Many consider a bedtime routine to be one of the most important factors in getting your baby to sleep through the night.

what to do

 

establish a bath time routine

Ideally bath-time should occur about the same time every evening. A warm bath can soothe and relax your baby before bedtime and should be an opportunity for you to bond with your baby. Enjoy this time together!

Add gentle, caring and relaxing baby bath products to the water such as chamomile and lemon, which are renowned for their calming and soothing properties. Make sure the water is luke warm and not too hot.

 

relax with a massage

Allow you self adequate time and use this time to share a few special moments with your baby. Use a baby oil that does not contain any petrochemicals. While you massage your baby look tenderly at him/her.

It is a good idea to put the massage cream or oil on your hands and rub them together so they will be soft and warm and do not shock your baby.

 

and now to sleep

If your baby is teething, has a cold or blocked sinuses, a gentle moisturising balm containing lavender massaged into the chest and neck can help to sooth and calm baby for a relaxing sleep.
