what am I driven by?
a socially conscious person and care about the world I live in and the effect my business will have on future generations. I have created miamoo because it fills a gap in the baby skincare market, which is currently dominated by cheap chemical laden products which I believe cause a lot of dry skin and irritations to babies, children and adults. As a mother I am compelled to tell other parents how to protect their children’s delicate skin and make them aware of the potential dangers of nasty chemicals.
my skincare experience
I guess I am more aware than most because I was born with very sensitive skin and over the years, I have used most of the high street skincare products, and, through my own product testing and ingredient research came up with 3 very simple findings:
Highly synthetic formulated skincare products had a drying and irritating effect on my delicate and sensitive skin.
The more I used natural products and then moisturised and massaged with natural creams and oils the more my skin felt better and looked better.
Washing, moisturising and massaging with natural products has kept my dry skin under control.
doctor’s creams did not work – they made it worse!
As a child I was given steroid creams and other highly medicated concoctions by doctors to prevent my skin from itching, bleeding and flaring up. They did not work! It was only when my mum massaged me with either pure coconut oil or sweet almond oil that I seemed to get any relief at all. Massage plays a big part in Asian culture and so I was lucky that mum had some traditional therapies she could use when the steroids did not work.
